When you have fine hair, finding a hair style that does not accentuate the problem can be tricky. Lack of volume can cause the hair to look limp and flat and this look is hard to pull off. If you have fine hair, follow our dos and don’ts below to make sure you make the most of your hair style.
DO
- Try a choppy fringe.
- Experiment with colour. Colouring or highlighting the hair can plump up the hair follicle giving the appearance of volume.
- Get a pixie cut.
- Incorporate layers into your hair style for a choppy, textured and voluminous look.
- Use a volumising shampoo.
- Let your hair dry naturally. This will create natural volume and will save you some time too.
DON’T
- Wear hair too long. This will leave hair looking even thinner and flat.
- Depend on heated tools to create volume. These can damage the hair causing it to break, leaving hair even thinner than before.
- Use conditioning treatments (unless specifically for fine hair), as these tend to weigh the hair down causing it to look even heavier and limper.
