Gordon Ramsay has opened up about his decision to fly First Class with his wife Tana while his four children continually sit behind in Economy.

"I got s**t last month about not paying First Class tickets [for his children’s air fares],” he told The Financial Times.

The chef was furious about the backlash he received for his recent comment. He later hit back against his critics after a broadcasting of his aptly-named TV show, The F Word

"That’s 15 f***ing grand a ticket, so let’s work this out for a minute. For four first-class tickets to LA, 60 f***ing grand. For Tana and I, 90 f***ing grand. What muppet is going to spend £90,000 flying from here to LA?”

The 50-year-old gave the rationale that all of them will arrive in LA at the same time, and he could spend his money on better investments.

"I said to the kids, ‘Every single person you see on that plane, you’re going to see at the carousel. You’re not getting to LA any quicker. Do you have any idea what you can do with that money after you get off that plane?’ You can buy a f***king car for that.

"Why does my six-year-old need a big f***ing seat, a 10-course menu with caviar and champagne in First Class?" he added.

He also colourfully pointed out that, although his net-worth is about £30 million, he doesn’t want to spoil his kids.

“I did not fly on a f***ing plane until I was 19 years of age. And when I sat on the plane cramped for eight hours, with food that was cooked three weeks ago, I was just happy to take off and be on a plane.

“What are they going to be like when they are 18? They are f***ed.”

What do you think, mums? Do you think the celebrity chef is right, or should he loosen the purse-strings? If you had millions like Gordon, would you pay for your kids to be in first class with you? Let us know in the comment section!
