The spirit of the festive season is well and truly alive, and all you need to do is read the story of Jim Glaub and Dylan Parker to realise this.

Not long after taking up residence in an apartment in Manhattan’s 22nd Street, New Yorkers Jim and Dylan started receiving letters addressed to Santa Claus!

Interestingly, these weren’t random letters – they were all from families in need, living in the Manhattan area.

When the number hit over 450, the couple decided that they could not ignore the requests of the authors. They set about trying to fulfil the Christmas wishes outlined in the letters, then they made a film about it.

The film came to the attention of the New York Times, and before they knew it, their story and plight was going viral. All of a sudden, everyone wanted to help them out in fulfilling these wishes.

While Jim and Dylan have since moved from their apartment, they used their experience to reach out to the less fortunate all over the world, and set up the Miracle on 22nd Street Facebook group - here's the link.

Here, on this page, people can make special requests and also volunteer to step up and help to grant the wishes of families in need.

Miracle on 22nd Street has continued to grow and grow, and as you can see, it is helping to change lives at Christmas.

What a fantastic idea!
