William and Kate celebrated St Patrick's Day with a visit to the 1st Batallion Irish Guards at Mons Barracks, Aldershot.

Kate was wearing a gorgeous Hobbs coat and Gina Foster hat, along with matching green shoes, shamrock and an Irish Guards brooch, which is actually a royal heirloom.

Prince William attended as Colonel of the Regiment and when asked by Sergeant Major Ray Collister if there were any more 'baby Micks' on the way (Micks being the nickname for the Irish Guards), William replied: 'Maybe one day. One's enough at the moment'.

He followed that with 'maybe when there's time'.

Kate was there to present the traditional sprigs of shamrock to the Officers and Guardsmen of the Regiment.

Even the regimental mascot, Irish Wolfhound Domhnall, got his very own sprig of shamrock from the Duchess.
