Three children and a woman in her 30s have been injured after a fire broke out at a block of flats in Inchicore in Dublin last night.

 

Emergency services were called to scene at around 11.20pm at the Tyrone Place apartment complex and firefighters battled the blaze for several hours.

 

Fire brigade units from Dophin's Barn and Tara Street stations attended the scene.

 

Five Dublin Fire Brigade tenders, one area ladder, five ambulances and Dublin Fire Brigade advance paramedics all attended the scene, according to The Irish Independent.

 

 

Two of the children, a seven-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were taken to Crumlin Children's Hospital and both are believed to be in a serious condition.

 

The third child, a 13-year-old boy, is being treated at Temple Street Hospital for burns, while the woman is being treated at St. James's Hospital.

 

Gardaí have sealed off the flat and have asked anyone with information to contact them at Kilmainham Garda Station on (01) 666 9700.
