As we have seen so many times recently, once your post goes viral across the internet you are open to the full range of reactions, from praise to criticism.

This is something that mum Gemma Colley learned the hard way, when she shared a hilarious photo of a tanning disaster involving her baby.

Blogger Gemma left mums everywhere laughing and nodding in recognition as she posted a Facebook photo of her son, his face blotched from being breastfed too soon after his mum’s spray tan.

However, there were some who didn’t find the post so amusing and took to social media to slam Gemma for putting her son in danger.

In a new post on her blog, Colley’s Wobbles, Gemma revealed that she was branded “the worst mum in the world” by one user.

“They told me I was selfish for getting a spray tan and should spend my time with my boys. [They said] I’d intentionally poisoned my son with chemicals,” she wrote.

Responding to the negative comments, Gemma added: “You know what? I don’t think I’m all that bad. Yes, I occasionally forget things, lose my s***, give my eldest one-too-many biscuits, and occasionally let the CBeebies babysit. But I’d hardly say that constitutes as the worst mum in the world.”

“If the worst thing I can do is give my baby an unintentional 5 o’clock shadow, I don’t think I’ve done too bad,” she added.
