It’s something that the majority of women all over the world experience on a monthly basis, and the fact is that periods are just a normal part of life. So why are some people still so affected by the sight of a blood stain on our clothing?

She went on to share an inspiring message for any women who have found, or will at some point find themselves in a similar situation.

“I AM NOT ASHAMED. I bleed every 28-35 days. It is painful at times, I get moody at times, but I walk into the kitchen and get myself some chocolate biscuits and I’m good to go for the next eight hours come hell or high water, because I AM NOT ASHAMED,” she added.

She went on to tell those children who had passed her that evening not to be ashamed when they find themselves in this situation in the future, also urging them not the utter the word ‘periods’ under their breath but recognise that this is a normal part of life.

Needless to say, the comment section underneath the post is full of praise for Anushka, with many women describing her as ‘beautiful’ for ‘bringing up the topic which no one wants to talk about’.
