If you are looking for a story that will bring a smile to your face, we’ve got a good ‘un for you here.

Jamal Hinton, a teenager from Phoenix, received a text message from an unknown number inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner.

The message read: “Thanksgiving dinner is at my house on Nov 24 at 3pm. Let me know if you're coming. Hope to see you all. Of course that includes Amanda & Justin.”

When questioned by Jamal who it was, he received a text saying: It’s your grandma.

However after exchanging selfies the pair realised that they didn’t know each other; Wanda had been trying to text her grandson, 24-year-old Brandon Burgoyne, who recently changed his number.

But the story didn’t end there.

When the duo realised that they didn't know each other, Jamal very cheekily asked if there was still a plate for him at the table, to which Wanda responded:“Of course you can. That's what grandma's do... feed everyone.”

Jamal tweeted the story - as you do - and it very quickly went viral.

According to NBC Nightly News, the strangers have met each other and the offer to attend dinner still stands.

In fact, Wanda has invited the teen’s entire family, and Jamal is planning on bringing “the pumpkin pie”.
