There's a wet start to the weekend expected as Met Eireann issues a Status Yellow rainfall warning. 

 

The areas expected to be worst affected include Munster, Galway, Mayo and Sligo, which can be expecting to see rainfall of between 30mm to 50mm. 

 

Met Eireann, has said that spot flooding is "likely" in these areas between between 3pm today and 3pm on Saturday, January 13.

 

The rain is set to move across the country overnight, hitting Ulster and Leinster on Saturday. 

 

The rest of the country is expected to have a dry weekend, with temperatures ranging between 6C to 10C. 

 

Sunday is expected to begin dry but turn wet and windy during the day. 

 

The early predictions for next week include the possible return of sleet and snow as temperatures are set to plunge.
