Don’t be fooled by the past few days of sunshine, Met Éireann has issued a yellow rainfall warning for 16 counties.

The weather warning is in place until 9am tomorrow morning.

Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Waterford are predicted to experience ‘thundery downpours’.

Yellow, weather advisory warnings have also been announced for Munster and Leinster until Wednesday, August 1st, at 3pm.

Rainfall is forecasted to reach between 25-40mm in places around the warned counties.

“The rain will be persistent and heaviest in the east and later in the north. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds.”

So, get out those brollies and get ready for a wet weekend!

Met Éireann advised to prepare for a rainy Saturday and Sunday but also to expect an increase in temperature Sunday afternoon.

The same forecast has been issued for next week: showers throughout the day with a gradual rise in temperature midweek.

Looks like we will be experiencing showers in the days up ahead, but at least we will still have some warm temperatures with a high of 21 degrees on Sunday.

Make sure to stay dry and expect some more typical, Irish rainy days.
