A four-year-old girl was heartbroken when she realised that she donated her favourite teddy bear to charity by mistake.

When she discovered that her bear was left with the other donations, she went back to the shop to retrieve the soft toy.

Much to her disappointment, the staff informed her that they had already sold the bear.

The bear was sold in the St. Vincent De Paul charity shop in Kilkenny. They have pleaded with the public to help find the young girl’s beloved bear.

They wrote on Facebook, “We really need your help. A little girl made an extremely kind gesture by donating three bags of toys to SVP Kilkenny. By accident, she put her favourite teddy, which she has had since she was born into one of the bags.”

They explained that the young girl is desperate to find her bear. They are asking the person who purchased the bear to return it to its rightful owner.

"She is desperately searching for it. It was sold so we are asking if that person would be kind enough to return it," they said.

The shop shared that they will reimburse the buyer.

We understand how much the bear means to the young girl. Let’s hope the pair will be reunited soon!
