As you will probably know by now, a hurricane is raging over the northern part of the continental US. While safety warnings need to be taken seriously however, those sharing them need to exhibit a bit of sensitivity.
This has been proven in the case of Fox News presenter Shepard Smith, who has left people shocked, frightened and even amused by his chilling warning about Hurricane Matthew.
Smith was presenting a segment on the hurricane when he urged viewers living in Florida, in the path of the disaster, to evacuate their homes and the area.
It seems Smith could have tempered his warning with a bit more sensitivity, however, as he said: “This moves 20 miles to the west, and you and everyone you know are dead. All of you. Because you can’t survive it…And your kids die too.”
The footage instantly went viral online, with some poking fun at Smith’s overzealous warning. Others, however, were less impressed.
What is wrong with fox news? Seriously stop fear mongering like this https://t.co/oJ3Lw8lmEy being safe is one thing, this isn't ok.

“What is wrong with Fox News? Seriously, stop fear-mongering like this. Being safe if one thing, this isn’t OK,” tweeted one alarmed Florida native.
Perhaps someone needs to have a word with Mr Smith!
