Being a parent is a tough job on so many levels, but one of the hardest things about it is constantly wondering if you’re doing the ‘right thing’ for your family and yourself.

Constance Hall is one mum blogger who has had enough of having to measure up to a certain image of what makes ‘a good mum’, and took to Facebook this week to send a powerful message of assurance and comfort to mums everywhere.

Touching on subjects such as postnatal depression and body image, Constance began her post: “To the woman in the park, looking at her phone, ignoring her children, I salute you.”

“Being a good mum or wife or human does NOT mean spending eternity cleaning your house. If you leave them for long enough, your friends [family] will start doing them. Trust me,” she added.

She proceeded to urge mums everywhere to be strong and ask for help if they need it.

Signing off, Constance described herself in a way that we can all relate to, as “a fellow mum, whose days are full of mammoth fails and micro victories, yet whose heart still manages to repeatedly explode for the mini army of love all day.”

As you can imagine, the post has gone viral across the internet, receiving over a quarter of a million likes and hundreds of thousands of shares.
