Claudia Winkleman has spoken out for the first time since her daughter was left injured on Halloween night.

The Strictly Come Dancing star took to Twitter to thank the medical staff who cared for eight-year-old Matilda after her costume caught fire at a Halloween party last month.

The 42-year-old wrote: “Hello Twitter. Firstly, a huge thank you to the incredible NHS doctors and nurses who are being extraordinary.”

Saying that little Matilda is recovering after the terrifying incident, she added: “We are bowled over by their kindness and brilliance. Matilda is doing well and although it will be a long road to recovery, she is getting the best possible care.”

After thanking fans for their messages of support, the presenter revealed that she will be back on Strictly duty with co-host Tess Daly tonight.

We are delighted to hear that Matilda is doing well after her traumatic ordeal.
