Our thoughts and prayers are with a family from Merseyside, England this week, following news of a tragic accident in the Wirral area of the county.
According to reports, a newborn baby has died after a tree fell on the car her mother was driving.
The unnamed woman is said to have been travelling on Arrowe Park Road when the freak accident occurred. She was pregnant with her daughter at the time.
After being cut from the car by emergency services, the woman was rushed to hospital where she later gave birth to the baby girl.
Tragically, the little one passed away in the early hours of this morning, in hospital.
The Merseyside Police confirmed the shocking news in a statement this evening, confirming that the woman is expected to make a full recovery after her ordeal.
“The family have asked to be left alone in privacy to be allowed to grieve…They would like to thank the emergency services and everyone – including members of the public – who came to her aid on the day,” the police rep added.
