Every now and then, a poignant image will come along that will just stop us in our tracks; Chris Minnini’s image – shared to Reddit this week – is one such image.
The photo, which has gone viral around the world, captures the ‘final goodbye’ between Chris’ ill parents, side-by-side in separate hospital beds.
According to Chris’ explanation on the social networking site, the shot was taken in May, at the Intensive Care Unit of Ontario’s Kingston Hospital.
Just a day after Chris’ father was admitted to hospital for the third time, with lung cancer, his mother suffered a heart attack and was brought in to the room next door.

“It’s the first time in the hospital’s history [that] two patients on life support were brought into the same room to be together. He passed away peacefully [on] May 4th,” he wrote.
Thankfully, Chris’ mother is now recovering after her own health scare, although she is naturally ‘heartbroken’ over the loss of her husband.
As you can imagine, the photo has moved people all over the world, with Reddit users sharing their condolences and well wishes to Chris.
