Spiced apple biscuits
These gently spiced biscuits are great with a cup of tea on those cold wintery days. 

65g apple purée

3tbsp honey

2 egg whites, lightly beaten

375g self raising flour

282g brown sugar

79g butter

100g Rice Krispies, crushed

1 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground cloves

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 180°C, 160°C for fan assisted ovens. Line a baking tray with baking parchment and set aside.

Beat sugar and butter in a bowl until combined.

Stir in apple purée, honey and egg whites.

Stir in the crushed Rice Krispies, sifted flour and spices and mix well. 

Roll mixture into small balls.

Place on the parchment and flatten each slightly.

Bake for approx. 8 minutes or until lightly golden.

Cool on a wire rack.
