After having two children in quick succession, there's no doubt that RTE broadcaster Claire Byrne has had her hands full, but according to the 39-year-old, this year will be more career-oriented and less baby focussed.

Opening up about her family which saw the arrival of baby Patrick in 2013 and baby Jane in 2014, Claire said; "I never say never to anything. but having had two babies in quick succession, I can promise you that 2015 will be a new baby-free zone."

Speaking to the RTE Guide, the broadcaster admits that while she was happy to return to RTE  she did struggle with the idea of leaving her children, saying: "I did feel some guilt."

The broadcaster, however, acknowledged that for her, returning to work was a necessity for both herself and her children, revealing "I believe that I’m a better person when I’m getting out of the house and consequently that is also better for my children."

Crediting her fiance Gerry Scollan, an IT consultant, for helping her juggle motherhood and work commitments, she says: "Only for Gerry, I'd be lost. He rescues me when things get tough and is really the only sane one in all of this."

Claire will be back in the saddle in no time when Claire Byrne Live hits our screens on January 19th.
