The Papini family of North California, US, had plenty to be thankful for yesterday, after mum-of-two Sherri turned up alive – three weeks after her abduction.

Sherri Papini was found at the side of the road on Interstate 5, on Thursday, alive and with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite being bound with restraints, she managed to flag down a passing car.

The news came three weeks after Sherri was abducted while out jogging alone, on 2nd November.

Sherri’s husband, Keith, raised the alarm when he arrived home from work to find that the mother had not collected their two young children from daycare. Sherri’s phone and earphones were later found near to where she jogs.

The news was confirmed by Sherriff Tom Bosenko, who told awaiting media: “She is safe, in stable condition and receiving medical clearance at an undisclosed hospital. She has been reunited with her husband, Keith.”

Police are now looking for two armed Hispanic women, driving a dark-coloured SUV, in connection with Sherri’s abduction. A $50,000 reward is being offered to anyone with relevant information.

Thank heavens Sherri is now safe.
