Eastender’s soap star Kellie Bright announced her pregnancy back in May, and has been vocal about her struggle to conceive at 40.

And now the actress, who plays Linda Carter in the popular soap, plans to leave Watford for six months, but vows to return after the birth of her baby.

“I’ll be on maternity leave for six months,” she told Inside Soap

"EastEnders were really flexible and left it entirely up to me.

"I didn’t want to be away forever but I also wanted enough time at home to enjoy my new baby."

Kellie is already mum to five-year-old Freddy with her husband Paul Stocker, and has been honest about how much she struggled to get pregnant second time around.

Admitting that she got pregnant “almost instantly” with little Freddy, the 40-year-old said that it was a totally different story the older she got.

“We were trying for more than a year, and I was very aware that I wasn’t getting any younger. We feel very lucky that we’re having another baby,” she admitted, before adding that her time on Strictly Come Dancing may have played a part.

“I think Strictly helped as it took the focus off trying and the fact that I was nearing 40,” she said at the time.
