It was announced today that one of TV3's most recognisable faces has decided to take redundancy but will stay with the channel on a freelance basis.
Presenter Sybil Mulcahy's decision appears to be based on her desire to spend more time with her three children, Hugh, Genevieve and Michael.
Sybil, who has worked with the popular Irish TV station for sixteen years, has decided to devote more time to family life, but according to a statement fom TV3 the broadcaster will continue to contribute to certain projects, saying: "Sybil is a much loved presenter at TV3 and viewers' favourite and will continue to work across a number of projects at the station."
The 40-year-old mum-of-three has commented in the past about the struggle involved with juggling both work and family responsibilities, saying: "I don't know how long I am going to be in TV. Am I going to be doing this when I am 50?"
Hinting that she may change her work/family dynamic, Sybil said: "I wouldn't mind being there for the kids when they are in secondary school. It's something I'd like to be able to do."
Wishing Sybil all the best with her new plans!
