Katie Kropas was suffering from back pain when she was admitted to hospital but was in for a shock when doctors told her was actually in labour.
Describing the extraordinary turn of events, the 23-year-old said: “I found out I was having a baby at 10:15pm and she was born at 11:06pm”.
Talking to WCVB TV, the young mum from Massachusetts, who had no idea that she was expecting, said she was given an ultrasound to figure out what was causing her back pain and “they took one look and rushed [her] off into labour.”
Katie who thought she had simply put on weight says people are in awe that she never knew, considering her baby was 10lbs. “They just say, 'you were carrying around 10 extra pounds and you didn't know it?' I don't know why I didn't know. I mean, I'm just excited and I appreciate everyone who is helping."
