No one wants to see a loved one going through a painful or life-threatening illness, but it’s especially worse when it’s a young child who is affected.

When our little ones are going through something like cancer treatment, we’ll do anything we can to bring a smile to their faces – and that’s exactly what the team at Blueprints of Love managed to do for little Ella, recently.

Ella, who is just 10 years old, was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in January. A week later, she underwent surgery to remove the tumour, but doctors were unable to get all of it.

Shortly after the procedure, the pathologist’s report came back, and Ella was dealt some devastating news – she had brain cancer.

A keen and talented dancer, Ella has remained upbeat and positive throughout her radiation and chemotherapy treatment, and her parents wanted to grant her a special wish – a total room redecoration.

Enter Blueprints of Love, a 100% voluntary organisation that designs and redecorates rooms for children with life-threatening illnesses. After consulting with Ella, the team of volunteers got to work and created something incredibly special for the little girl.

Skip forward to 7:30 in the video below, to see Ella’s reaction – her utter glee and gratitude will leave you reaching for the tissues.

We’re wishing Ella all the best with the rest of her treatment.
