Your hormones are all over the place when you are expecting: from emotional crying to outbursts of glee you can actually feel like you are losing your mind.

But while you should embrace your emotions, there are certain aspects that you need to keep on top of, like your anger, which can cause you to explode at loved ones because they breathe near you!

1. Breathe

When you do feel like you’re about to explode, take ten seconds to simply breathe in and out. Walk out of the room if you have to get air or space, and give yourself a moment to feel better.

2. Eat well

If you're feeling hungry you aren't going to be in the best mood, are you? With an already heightened sense of irritability not eating enough is just simply adding fuel to the fire. Make sure you consume small frequent meals rather than three main ones to keep hunger at bay and include plenty of essential vitamins and minerals.

3. Avoid stressful situations

It's impossible to avoid stress completely but by keeping it to a minimum and tackling it before it gets out of hand you will be kept on the straight and narrow. Remember point one at all times!

4. Talk, talk, talk

You can't keep things bottled up forever, eventually you will literally explode and EVERYTHING will come spilling out! If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed do talk about it with someone else. Five minutes of being open will save you days of feeling awful because you flew off the handle!

5. Get some air

Get out of the house and get as much air as possible! Being cooped all day long is not going to help you with pent up emotions - you need to give yourself space to breathe, and a change of scenery works wonders for your own head.
