Having a baby is a huge, life-changing thing that leaves your body feeling like it has been put through the ringer.

However, rather than look at these things as being something negative or something that should be hidden, it’s time to embrace new motherhood in ALL its glory.

1. Your squishy belly

No one gives birth and ends up with a tight, taut stomach. Your squishy belly carried your gorgeous bundle of joy for NINE whole months – don’t look at it with disgust, be proud of what it has achieved.

2. Dark, under eye bags

These are caused by the endless sleepless nights that you have endured for the past few weeks; the symptoms of being a good mum. You need to take care of them not try to cover them with PILES of concealer.

3. Your Caesarean line

That is where you baby came from. That line is the reason you can hold your baby in your arms. That line should be worn with pride.

4. Swollen boobs that feel like they are about to explode

They contain the correct nourishment for your baby, and have literally just made breakfast, lunch and dinner for your little one – you know how much of an ordeal that is!

5. The baby poop that ends up ALL over you

Babies tend to poop as soon as they are born, usually all over you! No it’s not nice, but you should thank the stars for delivering you a beautiful son or daughter.

6. The fact that your nether regions have been on display for HOURS

Shame and dignity is a wonderful thing that a lot of us have before we give birth, but one which very quickly disappears after Baby arrives. Just remember, the midwives and doctors have seen it all before!

7. Your new, bigger feet

During pregnancy your feet can grow to one size bigger, but you can totally use it as an excuse to go shopping! Not that we need an excuse to be fair!

8. Your sore back

Yes this one is going to be a tricky one to find a positive in, but it is a sign that you have just brought a wonderful little baby into the world and in the process have made things a little bit brighter.
