A pregnant woman in the UK has been court ordered to give birth to her sixth child via caesarean.
The decision was made after it emerged that the mum-of-five gave birth to her third child at home with the help of a pair of BBQ tongs.
The woman who is known as DD, has a fear of hospitals, which lead her to refuse medical help for her other births. She has also suffered from seizures, haemorrhages and even a stroke, due to her refusal of medical help.
DD, who is in her thirties has had her five children taken into care. Following her third child’s home birth, DD's baby became malnourished from being fed only cup-a-soup for a week. Because of this, DD has been deemed a risk to herself, and her baby’s life.
Authorities have now taken her to hospital to have the caesarean. Hospital staff have also been authorised to use sedation if necessary.
