Yesterday, we reported that an eight-week-old baby was among four people found dead in a hotel room in Alaska; now, today, more heartbreaking details have emerged.

According to the Fairbanks Police Department, preliminary investigations suggest that 22-year-old McKay Hutton shot the three other victims before turning the gun on himself.

Police have not disclosed any motive behind what they are treating as a murder-suicide.

Officers made the tragic discovery on Friday afternoon, after being called to the Hamptons Inn, in Fairbanks.

Upon arrival, police found a man crying in the hall of the second floor. He then led them to a nearby room, where the bodies of Linda Hutton, 54; McKay Hutton, 22; Emily McDonald, 22; and eight-week-old Teagan Hutton lay.

It was later confirmed that all four people had been killed by gunshot wounds, and a police rep went on to say that ‘a single firearm was recovered’ from the scene.

Questions hung over a second child’s welfare, but police assured the media that no one else was harmed in the tragedy.

“That child’s identity is not being released at this time, but was not present and is safe,” a rep announced.

Police have also not established the relationship between all four victims. However, Facebook lists Emily and McKay as being married, while Teagan appears to be Emily’s daughter.

We are thinking of all those affected by this tragedy.
