An inspirational mum who danced her way through her chemotherapy treatment has sadly lost her battle with cancer.

Texas woman Ana-Alecia Ayala passed away yesterday, Wednesday, after a year-long battle with uterine sarcoma that eventually spread to her ovaries and the lining of her stomach.

Ana-Alecia rose to prominence last year, after sharing videos of herself and her friend dancing through her chemotherapy sessions.

In the videos ‘Chemo Dance Party’ and ‘Juju On That Chemo’, the mum-of-one tackled therapy with a smile and a positive attitude alongside her friend, Danielle Andrus.

The videos went viral, and Ana-Alecia was even invited on to The Ellen Show, where she shared her belief that ‘laughter is the best medicine’.

Ana-Alecia’s family confirmed the sad news of her passing yesterday. She is survived by her husband and their three-year-old daughter.

The beloved mum inspired the masses with her incredible attitude towards her illness.

She once said: “I want to encourage cancer patients’ loved ones to step out of their comfort zones and be silly, have a dance party, be present in the moment and have a great time. Laughter is the best medicine, and I hope to make people smile – even at the expense of my bad dance moves.”
