Anam Cara has launched its 'Month to Remember' for the month of November. This initiative aims to build awareness and raise funds through the nationwide sale of the Anam Cara Balloon to Remember pin. The pin is on sale in Doc Morris and Unicare Pharmacies, Eddie Rocket Diners, and online at www.anamcara.ie
Since it was launched in 2008, Anam Cara has helped over 1,000 families cope with the devastating death of their children. Most parents cannot even imagine coping with the death of a child, yet every day we hear of illnesses, accidents and tragedies taking the lives of children. The impact of the death of a child, no matter what their age, brings with it an intense grief that lasts far longer than society recognises. Anam Cara is there to offer support through the dark days because Anam Cara understands this unique grief. Parents who are a little further on their bereavement journey can reach a hand back to help newly bereaved parents.
Anam Cara encourages extended family and friends to remember the families they know who have experienced the death of a child. This can be done by wearing an Anam Cara pin and placing a message in the Anam Cara Book of Remembrance by visiting www.anamcara.ie.
