These days, it's a very traditional thing to find out the gender of your baby before the birth happens. Some want to keep the surprise element until the big reveal but for other parents, knowing whether to buy pink or blue helps hugely - as well as the tricky decision of baby names.

If you're approaching the 20-week mark of your pregnancy next month and planning to find out the sex of your baby, RTE would love to hear from you.

RTE is looking for pregnant women to take part in an exciting new science show in November as they seek to perform a live ultrasound.

Across three consecutive nights, the programme will unlock our understanding of a human lifetime, including the wonderment of pregnancy, in front of a live studio audience. Broadcasting from Trinity College’s historic School of Anatomy, it will look at the extraordinary development humans go through from birth to death.

The series producers are looking for a pregnant woman who would be up for having a live ultrasound done - and find out the sex of the baby.

This would be conducted by Fionnuala McAuliffe - Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the National Maternity Hospital.

Will you be around 20 weeks pregnant and free to come into the RTE TV studio on Wednesday, November 14th? If so they'd love to hear from you.

Please email fiona@loosehorse.ie or phone or more information. Expenses and small gratuity fee will be paid.
