Frightening reports have emerged today, detailing how four adults and three children were assaulted and tied up during a burglary at their home in Finglas, Dublin.

According to reports, two men armed with a shotgun and a knife broke into the home on Heathfield Way in Finglas at around 10:30pm last night.

Gardaí have revealed that two men, two women and three children were in the house at the time, and all seven were threatened, assaulted and tied up.

The thieves are said to have fled the scene with a small sum of money, using a dark-coloured car as their getaway vehicle.

With authorities alerted to the incident, two male victims were brought to Connolly Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí have now launched a search for the two men who carried out the robbery, and have appealed to the public for any useful information that may help the case.

The house has been sealed off for further examinations.

This is the second shocking theft story involving children that we have heard this week. Three-year-old Aiden Barrios made headlines on Monday after his mum’s car was stolen while he was still inside.

Thankfully the children in these stories have been reported safe, but this is becoming too frequent an occurrence.
