It is my first pregnancy and I am currently 11 weeks. From Week 6 I have had severe nausea and am just not feeling great, but with the past two weeks the pains in my knees, wrists and hands are getting worse daily.
I am living abroad and not due to see my doctor again until the 24th, but I am seriously upset and worried about this pain and considering popping along to my GP.
I have read other forums where people say they had joint pain, but I’ve a lot of friends/family who have had babies and none of them have ever experienced anything like this.

I also have Crohn’s disease, but this has been in remission for six years and I'm not on any medication. I had a scan and full bloods three weeks ago, and they were all OK. I’m losing weight as I have no appetite and have no energy to eat, anyway.

I would just like to know is what I am feeling common, as another 29 weeks of this will send me into a mental hospital?!

All the best,
Jess

Hi Jess,
Indeed, it is normal to have nausea but not normal to have severe joint pains. It cannot be ignored, either, that you are losing weight.

The bloods you had done a few weeks ago may have just been usual bloods but not included bloods for joint inflammation. You need to go to your GP today, get checked for dehydration and a good all-over check and blood tests.

A fix will be found for this – you won't be left this miserable!

Kind regards,
Eleanor
