He may not even be a teenager yet, but already young Sean Tarala is facing into a messy legal case - with a member of his own family.

The 12-year-old, from Connecticut, US is reportedly being sued by his aunt, after he jumped into her arms and subsequently broke her wrist at his birthday party.

The incident occurred at Sean’s eighth birthday party back in 2011, when the child excitedly ran to greet his aunt, Jennifer Connell.

Testifying in court this week, Connell recalled: “All of a sudden he was there in the air. I had to catch him and we tumbled onto the ground. I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen, I love you,’ and there he was, flying at me.'”

While she didn’t admit to it at the time as she didn’t want to make a fuss at the party, Connell told the court that she suffered a broken wrist from the incident.

She proceeded to claim that the injury has had a significant impact on her life, explaining: “I live in Manhattan in a third-floor walk-up, so it has been very difficult. And we all know how crowded it is in Manhattan. I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate.”

Connell is now seeking $127,000 in damages from Sean, who is the only defendant in the case.
