Losing a job and expecting a child all at the same time can be quite worrying for any parent, and sometimes all we need is for a loved one to reassure us and tell us that everything is going to be okay.

In the case of the Kim family, from Canada, it was their unborn son who did the comforting, recently.

Mum Nicole Kim has become a viral internet sensation after sharing a photo of her child giving the ‘thumbs-up’ from inside the womb.

It was an eagle-eyed hospital technician who spotted the gesture and zoomed in so that Mum and Dad could see it clearly.

With Nicole’s husband recently losing his job, the couple have had their fair share of anxiety during the pregnancy, and they took their little one’s gesture as a sign of good things to come.

Nicole, who is also mum to three-year-old and five-year-old sons, told Today: “For me, it just made it seem like everything was going to be okay.”

“I think the reason this went viral was because people wanted something to be happy about,” she added.
