During pregnancy, there can be a lot of things to remember.

From doctor’s appointments to dietary needs, those nine months can have leave our minds completely boggled.

So, worrying about a baby shower is probably the last thing on your list of things to do.

Hosting a party can be stressful no matter when you’re doing it, but during pregnancy we often decide to skip the responsibility and avoid the worry.

You don’t need to go all-out to create a memorable event, and a theme is the easiest way to avoid spending unnecessary money and time on things you don’t want or need.

Shopping with a specific look in mind will help narrow down your search and, hopefully, prevent impulse-buying.

A theme will also provide a gorgeous backdrop for your day and all the pictures that are sure to be taken.

We’ve picked six of our favourite themes to help lessen the burden just a little.

1. Bee-utiful baby

We love this adorable theme from Pizzazzerie. Stick to a black and white palette, and inject colour through fresh yellow flowers and napkins.

You can also make your own bees using some yellow and white card, and a black marker. Hang some string, and stick them to the ceiling for a really cute feature with minimal cost and effort.

2. Pink and pineapple

While not necessarily intended to be a shower theme, we just love how cute and summery this pink and pineapple theme from Studio DIY is.

Use pink and white as your central colour palette, and add interest with fresh pineapple. We also love how great these fake leaves look as a table dressing, and they're super-easy to find in most home interior shops.

3. Wild Child

We absolutely adore this earthy theme from Soulshine Rentals.

Nature is your inspiration here, so add as many plants and fresh flowers to your room, and you're halfway there. We love this amazing print they created for their centrepiece, surrounded by lots of miniature succulents.

4. Magical mermaids

This shower theme from Catch My Party is exactly how we imagine mermaids would celebrate.

While this example is very 'busy', you can use this simply as inspiration but keep yours much more minimal. Sticking to colours like blue, green, purple and pink, you can transform your room through napkins, tableware and colourful treats, all accented with a sprinkle of seashells.

5. Baby loves boho

This minimal, boho shower from The TomKat Studio is perfect for those of you who want to keep things simple.

Again, with lots of organic textures and plants, you can transform your room into something naturally gorgeous. Bring as many plants as you can into the room, and add as many gold accents as you can find.

6. Marvellous monochrome

You can never go wrong with black and white, and that's exactly what Bloom Designs think, too.

What's great about this theme is that it is so easy to match everything. Keep as much white as you can in the room to avoid it looking too dull. And if you're really in need of some colour, why not introduce a colour to inject some life into your room - blue or pink, maybe?
