While baby showers are usually fun, there are a few things that can make them a little less so. Here are a few things you should avoid to make sure yours is a happy event, that goes off without a hitch:
Keep the guest list down. It’s tempting to invite everyone you know, but organising an event that has too many guests is too stressful!
Make sure there’s enough food and drink for your guests, and make sure that it’s all pregnant woman friendly. You might not be the only mummy to be present, and you don’t want to serve things people can’t eat! Likewise, make sure that any vegetarian and other special dietary requirements are catered for.
Avoid offensive games. If all your guests are your age, and have the same sense of humour, then games like ‘pin the sperm on the egg’ might work. If your granny is going to be there, it might be best to avoid them!
Send out invitations early. That way, you avoid frazzled and rushed guests, and you can plan properly.
Stick to a simple theme. Going over the top can be too much, so pick a single theme, and stick to it!
