Beat those Winter Blues with Netflix

The Christmas festivities are now over, which means it’s time for New Year’s resolutions, re-evaluating our finances and staying in on those long, cold nights. But January doesn’t need to be gloomy…it’ also the perfect time for you and your family to escape with an exciting film, or get stuck into a great new TV show – and Netflix has plenty to choose from!

We want to know what you’ll be watching on Netflix to beat the January blues. Are you enjoying the quirky police comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Perhaps you’re catching up on House of Cards in preparation for season 3 in February? Maybe you’ll be indulging in an episode of Breaking Bad?

We’d also like to know what your kids love watching on Netflix. Are the little ones obsessed with Spongebob Squarepants? Do they wind down before bed with a Disney film like Toy Story 3 or Brave? Or maybe your teenager is hooked on Gossip Girl? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear about it!

Tell us how your family will be using Netflix to beat the Winter blues, and be in with a chance to win a Playstation 4 and 1 year Netflix subscription.

We signed up to Netflix as a back up and I have to say, it's been our go to viewing every weekend, there is so little on TV in January. Homeland is fantastic for a bit of gritty drama, and I love Peep Show - David Mitchell is so good.
The kids enjoy Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Toy Story and The Smurfs.
Can't recommend Netflix enogh - there's always something to watch, for all ages.

I have to say I'm not really a winter blues person, I love the change of season - but I still love Netflix. Breaking Bad is fantastic, and I'm also watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. DH enjoys Suits and Dexter. And the kids, well they're not difficult to please especially when there is so muc to choose from - their current fave is Puss in Boots (I've seen it a few times too - it's excellent)
I agree with you mumtorach - I love the change of seasons! Of course it's nice when a new season comes around there's some new viewing too ;)

The kids still haven't let go of Christmas so we're still watching Mickey's Twice Upon Christmas! ha ha. It's definitely beating the winter blues though ... so I guess that's a good thing.

For a bit of light relief on these cold winter evenings we've been watching The Office - great laugh. The kids love Monsters Inc and Toy Story - no matter how many times they've seen them before.

I'm really enjoying catching up on my fix of chickflicks like The Proposal (great film and always worth watching Ryan Reynolds again and again :)
The kids love Monsters Inc and Sponge Bob.

This year I promised myself I would catch up on the period dramas on Netflix, I often see them when I'm looking for something to watach with the hubby - but he always veto's them :) Well I got a tablet for Christmas which means I can sneak off at any time, day or not and watch what I want. So far I have watched Emma and Great Expectations - they were brilliant. Looking forward to catching up on the rest.

OOoh Sons of Anarchy is next on my list, I heard it's really good.

I love watching documentaries on Netflix, especially during these long January evenings. I really enjoy anything from Louis Theroux or nature programmes like The Blue Planet. The latest movie I watched was The Case Against 8, which was terrific.

We got Netflix late last year after reading some of the review here, and we haven't been disappointed. There is always something on, and plenty to keep the kids happy. Perfect to beat the winter blues.

deedee2010 - Does Sponge Bob not do your head in? It's the one kids show that drives me crazy and I just can't have on.
