There is nothing quite like the bond between a child and their four-legged best friend, and our newfound love for James Isaac and Mahe has proven this.

It seems the world, too, has fallen in love with this adorable duo, after photos of their close bond during a traumatic time did the rounds online.

According to mum Michelle, nine-year-old James has ‘profound autism’, and life was pretty difficult before his service dog Mahe came on the scene.

Michelle told Today.com this weekend that James doesn’t speak, and while Mahe’s main role is to keep him safe when he’s out and about, the pair have developed a deep and loving bond.

This was shared with the world recently, when New Zealander James began suffering from seizures. He needed to go under anaesthetic in order for doctors to carry out tests, and loyal Mahe was there for him every step of the way.

Indeed, doctors allowed Mahe to keep James company in his hospital bed, and photographer Louise Gossens captured some incredible photos of the touching moment for James’ Facebook page.

Recalling the incredible moment for Today, Michelle said: “Mahe got his face really close to James, who was asleep at that point, and he reached in to sniff him. He looked really concerned. It was quite touching.”

Since being shared to social media, the photos of best buddies James and Mahe have really struck a chord online, with hearts everywhere touched by this duo’s beautiful bond.

It just goes to further prove that dogs really are man’s best friend.

SHARE to remind others of the incredible bond between children and their loving, loyal pets.
