She inspired millions when she made an incredibly brave video in a bid to help others going through the same situation as her, and now Emma Murphy has taken to Facebook to praise her kids for giving her the strength to carry on.

The 26-year-old made the decision to post a video of her bruised face after her ex-partner, Francis Usanga, hit her, and subsequently brought the topic of domestic abuse into the limelight.

Taking to her Facebook page recently, the mum-of-two admitted that her life was “far from perfect” but that when she looks at her children’s smiles “it certainly is perfect”.

“In life we come up against struggles/challenges, nothing in life is free and we are really challenged at times. [But] always remain true to yourself and surround yourself with people who lift you up. My life is far from perfect but when I'm with my 2 babies it certainly is perfect to see them smile, being a mammy is the most amazing feeling in the world [sic],” she wrote.

Days after Emma posted the viral video to Facebook Francis admitted to hurting her and apologised to her family and friends. Not surprisingly, the young mum rejected his sorry saying she was “really hurt, really, really hurt that he didn’t apologise” to her personally.

The inspirational young woman has gone on to tell anyone who are victims of domestic abuse to seek help.

“Go to your family, your family are always going to have your back and have your support. In every relationship there’s good and there’s bad, and it takes two as well. He was losing his temper more frequently. If you see someone change over time look out for those signs."
