A British father spent the final months of his cancer battle trying to find the right foster family for his four-year-old son.

Single dad Nick Rose passed away on January 3, at the age of 40, leaving behind his beloved son Logan.

Thanks to Nick’s devotion to his son, however, the tot is now settling into his new life with a loving foster family in Devon.

On a fundraising page, a friend revealed that Nick had previously battled cancer, requiring parts of his tongue to be removed.

Sadly, the cancer returned last year, starting in his bones and then spreading to his lungs.

During his brave nine-month battle with the disease, Nick made finding the right home for Logan a priority.

His sister revealed: “Nick found out he had cancer about nine months ago and tried to stay strong for his son for as long as possible. He very bravely arranged for his little boy to go to a foster family after he passed.”

Apparently, Logan’s mother has not been involved in his life for a number of years.

Following Nick’s death at a hospice, family and friends turned to fundraising pages to raise money for his funeral and for Logan.

Tributes have also poured in for the loving father, with one friend writing: “Nothing came before Logan. He was such a good bloke.”
