According to emerging reports, police in northern France have killed two individuals responsible for a hostage situation in the Haute-Normandie region of the country this morning.
It has been established that two armed individuals stormed the Church of the Gambetta at around 9.45am local time, and held a priest, two nuns and several worshippers against their will.

Media outlets have confirmed that reports at the time were conflicting, but it appeared between four and six people had been taken hostage.

Officials evacuated a large portion of the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray commune and cordoned off the scene, while paramedics can be seen removing stretchers from ambulances.
According to the Associated Press, police have killed the two attackers and the motive for their actions this morning remain unclear.
