No doubt you read, and were touched by the story of Safyre Terry this week; the eight-year-old little girl who asked for her Christmas card tree to be filled for the festive season.

Safyre was badly injured in a house fire three years ago that claimed the lives of her father and three siblings, and she was left with burns to three-quarters of her body.

Earlier this week, a post was shared by her aunt revealing that all Safyre wanted for Christmas was to be able to fill her Christmas card tree, and an appeal was launched for well-wishers across the world to step up and make her wish come true.

MANY MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU

In a wonderful update to her story this weekend, Safyre has shared a fantastic video to her official Facebook page, revealing that the tree has been well and truly filled. In fact, she has so many extra cards that she doesn’t know what to do with them all!

“I’ve got all of these cards on the Christmas tree – I don’t think we can put some more on there…thank you,” she told the camera.

I really think I am dehydrated from crying so much... This is absolutely amazing, it takes my breath away. We, my family...

The news comes as a representative from Safyre’s local post office revealed that they have been overwhelmed and inundated with cards addressed to the inspirational little girl.

We are so delighted for her, and we’re wishing her a very merry Christmas.
