Even if the sun doesn’t decide to shine this June Bank Holiday, there are still plenty of events happening across the country to keep the whole family entertained:

 

1. Mexican Garden Salsas Demo and Paper Garden

Picado Mexican Pantry in South Richmond Street will be hosting a Mexican garden party with salsa demos and a paper flower workshop from Friday, 29th May to Monday,1st June.


Workshops will take place throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, and will show kids how to make the flowers with paper, and there will be entertainment for mums and dads with the Garden Salsa cooking demos.

2. Ireland's first ever floating festival takes place this May

On Sunday, 31st May until Friday, 5th June, four barges will start their journey from Carlow to Borris carrying chefs, writers, musicians, photographers, artists and comedians on board.

 

Over the five days the barges will float down the River Barrow stopping in each town - Carlow, Leighlinbridge, Bagenalstown, Goresbridge, Tinnahinch and Borris - along the way, and set up a miniature festival on the riverside.

3. Cork Harbour Festival 2015

This Bank Holiday weekend why not head to Cork and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Cork Harbour Festival.

 

Combining the Ocean to City Race and Cork Harbour Open Day, there are over 40 different events being held throughout the festival for the whole family to enjoy.

4. Carlow Stiletto Sprint 2015

Taking place on Monday, 1st June, the Carlow Stiletto Sprint has fast become one of the most popular events in the Carlow Arts Festival programme and it is not surprising why.

 

Three local charities - Carlow Order of Malta, Asante Eye Charity Kenya and Chic and Cheerful - in partnership with UNUM Ireland and Carlow Arts Festival take on the running of Carlow Stiletto Sprint each year and they want 2015 to be bigger and better than ever!
