For many of us, school picture day brings to mind awkward poses and constant shuffling, but for one little boy in the States his memory of school picture day will always be incredibly special.

After eight-year-old Joshua Bass smiled shyly for his school snapshot this week, he was given the opportunity to take a look at the moment captured by the Pearsontown Magnet Elementary photographer and it's certainly something!

Unbeknownst to little Joshua, his dad, Corporal James Bass, had made a surprise visit home to his family and decided to announce his presence by photobombing his little boy.

It took his son a moment to register what was happening, but when he does the reaction is incredibly touching.
