The world was once again rattled following the terrorist attack in Nice on Thursday night, which left 84 dead.
Sadly, ten of those killed were children and teenagers who had been out with their families celebrating Bastille Day on the city’s famous Promenade des Anglais.
Heartbreakingly, among those being treated for their injuries in hospital is a ten-year-old child who is said to be in critical condition.
They have yet to be identified by their parents, prompting fears he or she may have been left orphaned following the horrific attacks.
Speaking to a press conference, Stephanie Simpson said the Children’s Hospital of Nice treated 30 children in total.
"Five children are still in a critical condition, a child is stabilised and three are on life support".

According to Nice-Matin, at least a dozen children have been missing since Thursday’s attack including four-year-old Killian Taher, 13-year-old Laura Borla and 14-year-old Manon Hugues
“The worst thing was the sheer number of children coming in, the nature of their injuries—serious head trauma and broken limbs—and the emotion felt by the children and their families,” Frederic Sola, a Lenval children’s hospital surgeon said to The Guardian.
