Since its release two years ago, Disney’s Frozen has sparked a major worldwide phenomenon, with little girls everywhere delighting in dressing up as Princesses Elsa and Anna.

Little Samara Muir, who is just three years old, was reportedly the victim of racial abuse after attending a Disney-themed event at a shopping centre while dressed as Elsa.

“My daughter was in tears when we were at Watergardens for the Frozen activities, as a mother and her two daughters told my daughter, “don’t know why you dressed for ‘coz Anna and Elsa aren’t black, and black is ugly, and you’re black”. Not nice…racism is alive and well in the next generation,” wrote Rachel.

Rachel’s post has gone viral around the world, and Samara is said to have received letters and messages of support from as far away as India. She was also featured as a ‘Princess’ on the cover of her local newspaper.

That woman in the shopping centre should be ashamed of herself. Let’s hope that her own daughters can learn from this experience.
