Just days after a horrific mass shooting took place Charleston, South Carolina, a similarly tragic incident has been reported from Austria.
At least three people have been killed, with up to 50 others left injured, after a move drove deliberately through a crowd of shoppers in Graz, Austria, before getting out a stabbing those in his path.
The incident is reported to have occurred this afternoon, Saturday, at approximately 12.30pm, when the male driver crashed his SUV at high speed into a crowd of shoppers on the Herrengasse street.
After sending several people crashing over the vehicle, the driver then disembarked, drew out a knife, and began stabbing by-standers at random.
Early reports claim that a woman and a young boy, aged seven, are among those killed in the horrific attack.
Emergency services responded immediately, with around 60 ambulances and four helicopters arriving on the scene. The 26-year-old attacker, who is reported to be suffering from mental health problems, has been arrested.
Commenting on the shocking scene, an eyewitness told German-language website Krone: “The bodies are lying covered in the street.”
