A nine-year-old child is among four people who have died in a tragic speedboat accident off the coast of the Greek island of Aegina.
According to reports, the accident occurred this afternoon when a speedboat and a tourist vessel collided.
The speedboat is said to have struck the tourist boat at high speed, splitting it in two and causing it to capsize.

The Greek coastguard has since revealed that the tourist boat held around 20 people, mostly holidaymakers.
The captain of the tourist boat is said to be among the dead, along with the child and two other men. Names and nationalities have not yet been released.
Four others have been left injured and are currently being treated. They – along with other occupants of the boat – were rescued by the coastguard, a navy helicopter and private boats.

Aegina is located about 16 miles from the Greek capital of Athens.
