We have yet more upsetting news to share this week, as it has been revealed that the body of a young man has been discovered by a group of children in a park in Dublin.

According to reports, the children were playing in Cherry Orchard Park last night when they caught sight of the as-yet unnamed man’s body close by a railway bridge, next to Park West train station.

Upon finding the body, the children alerted their parents, who proceeded to contact local authorities.

Commenting on the incident today, locals said that they believe the body to be that of a local man in his twenties. An investigation into the death has been launched by the Dublin City Coroner.

Dublin City Councillor Daithí Doolan spoke out after the sad news broke, saying: “Children out playing who found the body were shocked and told their parents. I hope the children and parents will receive whatever support they need.”

“The community are very shocked and saddened by this death and we extend our sympathy to the young man’s family,” he added.

What a very sad story for everyone involved. We are thinking of the community today.
