A man has spoken of his devastation after his wife and daughter were killed in a tragic car accident in Poland this week.
Yvonne Buchtrup – the daughter of Limerick horse-trainer John Long – and her two-year-old daughter, Ella, died when a vehicle struck their parked car.
The deceased mother and child were in their car with Yvonne’s husband, Soren, and their six-month-old son Noah when the incident occurred. The family had been on their way back to their home in Norway after attending a friend’s wedding when the tragedy unfolded.
While Yvonne and Ella were killed instantly, Soren and Noah escaped the crash without serious injury.
Opening up on his devastation after losing his wife and daughter, heartbroken Soren – who has an older son from a previous relationship – shared photos of “these two wonderful girls” on social media.
“I feel I have lost everything, but I still have the two most important boys in my life. I will keep cherishing and loving them forever together with the beautiful memories and love of Yvonne and Ella,” he wrote.
This is such a sad story. Our hearts go out to Soren and the family at this tragic time.
